KES Wrestling Team Takes on SSNS Tournament

The young men and women of the King’s-Edgehill School wrestling team had a very busy weekend in Bridgewater at Park View Education Centre. On Saturday, they competed in the School Sport Nova Scotia (SSNS) tournament, and on Sunday they took part in the Wrestling Nova Scotia competition as the Windsor Mat Kings.

Altogether, our school had 11 student athletes represent us – boys and girls, juniors and seniors, beginners and veterans, nine of whom brought home medals.

Some of the highlights of the weekend included:

Wesley Oulton '25, using his newly learned skills and athleticism to finish with a winning record and a couple of silver medals in very tough weight classes.

Ewan Shaw '30, continuing his winning ways with a gold medal on Sunday, after beating a perennial rivel from Sackville for the first time.

Aidan Donovan '27 won his first match and faced tough competition for the remainder of the weekend, he maintained a positive attitude throughout and gained valuable experience overall.
Kenta Matsuda '27, putting on his usual displays of technique and power with some great throws and a gold medal.

Skye Hussey '26 and Romina Rivas Gutiérrez '25 working very hard against tough opponents and showing everyone how fun wrestling is, win or lose, with their great attitudes.

All our student athletes worked their very hardest and represented our school with class all weekend. They are looking forward to seeing the support from the KES community this weekend during the 29th annual King’s-Edgehill School Wrestling Invitational, which will prove to be the biggest and most competitive tournament this season so far.
