The arts at King’s-Edgehill create an inclusive environment that embraces diversity – not only in who we are but also in our choices of what we pursue and how we express those choices. Creativity and imagination enable us to develop ideas, solve problems, and acquire essential life skills. Intelligence and creativity are overlapping skills, and through the arts, individuals build confidence, develop perspective, and discover their true nature. This week, we are excited to recognize three outstanding Artists of the Week.
Maci MacInnis, ’31, was recently invited to join the dance team this term. She took it upon herself to learn an entire routine of choreography during her March Break. This initiative and commitment to hard work are appreciated. Maci’s dedication to dance is evident at every practice, where she communicates clearly, often arrives early, immediately gets to work, listens attentively, and puts her best foot forward. She is always willing to take risks and rise to challenges. Maci’s passion for dance is evident through her actions, her joy in collaborating with other dancers, and her work on her own choreography. You’ll have the opportunity to see Maci perform in the upcoming dance recital, where she’ll take part in two group routines, a trio, and a solo.

Her standout performances include Violet in Willy Wonka Jr., Michael in Matilda, Grace in Annie Jr., Jordan in Ranked: A Musical, and most recently, the title role in Mary Poppins Jr. Beyond the stage, Sawyer is deeply committed to music and theatre, excelling in drama and music classes, pursuing private voice and drum lessons, and always giving her all in every performance. Her hard work and enthusiasm shine through in every role she takes on, and she is a valuable contributor across the arts, including visual art, drama, and music. Sawyer’s dedication to the performing arts is inspiring, and we can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!
Quinn Monahan '28 made an immediate impact on the KES performing arts scene upon his arrival this year, earning the role of Francis in the Senior School production of Ranked: A Musical and most recently delivering an excellent performance as George Banks in Mary Poppins Jr. His natural talents in music and drama shine on stage, bringing characters to life with strong acting and impressive vocals. Beyond the musicals, Quinn is a dedicated member of the Cadet Band and actively hones his craft through drama and music classes, choir, and voice lessons. His hard work and passion for the performing arts are evident in everything he does, and we can’t wait to see what he takes on next!
