KES Swimmers Make a Splash at AA Winter Championship

Three of our Highlanders swimmers participated in the AA Winter Championship meet held at Acadia Pool last weekend, and all posted personal bests. Julien Gingras '27 led the way, achieving personal best times in all six of his events. In fact, Julien had 11 personal best swims because he qualified for finals in all six of his events and further improved his times in the finals. As an added bonus, Julien won gold in the 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle, placed second in the 200m breaststroke, and third in the 50m breaststroke.

Laura Napier-Whale '30
had a very busy weekend. She competed in the morning swimming events and then hurried off to the junior musical each night to contribute her singing voice. Laura earned personal bests in all of her swims but particularly excelled in her 50m and 100m freestyle events, placing third in the preliminary round of her 50m freestyle.

Ewan Shaw '30 was also pushing himself to Be More this weekend, participating in the SSNS Provincial Wrestling Championships on Friday and Saturday before swimming in the preliminaries on Sunday morning. Ewan earned a personal best in his 100m backstroke.

There are two more meets to come in March. The AAA Winter Championships are being held this weekend in Halifax at Dalplex, and the East Coast Championships will be during the last weekend of March.
