Highlanders Swim Back in Action at AAA #2 Invitational
The Highlanders were back in action last weekend at the AAA #2 Invitational at the Dalplex pool in Halifax. Our standout performance came in the Mixed 400m Medley Relay, where we shattered our 2024 team record by more than 26 seconds, securing a bronze medal behind two teams from Charlottetown.
Emery Endres '28 led off with a strong 100m backstroke, Lillian Blois '27 delivered a fantastic breaststroke leg, Harvey Hadley '27 powered through the butterfly, and Michael Denysenko '25 anchored the relay with a fast freestyle finish.
Denysenko is establishing himself as a formidable sprint specialist, racing to big personal bests in both the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly. Hadley also had an impressive meet, achieving personal bests in the 50m freestyle and 200m freestyle, finishing fifth and second, respectively. Blois made a huge leap in her 100m backstroke, cutting 10 seconds off her previous best. She followed that up with another personal best in the 50m freestyle.
Next up, our AA team of Laura Napier-Whale '30, Ewan Shaw '30, and Julien Gingras '27 will compete at Acadia University this weekend, followed by our AAA swimmers returning to Dalplex to kick off March Break.
