The Grade 8 art class has just completed large paintings inspired by the American artist, Keith Haring.
Keith Haring was an American artist whose pop art emerged from the New York City graffiti subculture of the 1980s. His animated imagery has "become a widely recognized visual language". His work is instantly recognizable due to its vibrant colors, bold lines, and recurring motifs, such as dancing figures, dogs, and radiant babies. Haring’s style was heavily influenced by street culture, and his background in graffiti art played a crucial role in shaping his visual language.
It was wonderful that the students were able to work together and immerse themselves in Keith Haring’s style. His bold lines and vibrant colors are so energetic and dynamic. It was a great collaborative project.
