Hockey Fights Cancer – In Memory of J.D. Trainor

The Highlanders boys hockey team recently hosted two home games this past weekend. Both games were against the Mount Academy U18 team in CSSHL action. The Highlanders completed a sweep of both games finishing the weekend with two wins. On Saturday night the boys overcame an early 2-0 deficit and skated to a 6-2 victory. William Bridgeo '25 was outstanding in the net, and both Carter Cooling '25 and Kristopher Brosseau '27 got two points each. On Sunday, the team went up 3-0 and held on for a 3-2 victory. Nolan Herritt '25 was excellent in the net and Josh Fleury '26 and Jack Ogden '26 each chipped in with two big points.

On Saturday night the team also hosted a Hockey Fights Cancer night to remember and celebrate J.D. Trainor. A special shoutout to the Highlanders girls hockey team for their incredible effort in collecting donations and decorating the rink in purple. Attendees had the opportunity to contribute to the Janeway Foundation, with all proceeds supporting the Janeway Children's Hospital, which cared for J.D. Trainor. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the game raised $1,371 for the fund. We are truly grateful to everyone who donated and came out to support the team!

The boys are headed to Ottawa this weekend for a CSSHL Showcase.
