Artists of the Week

The arts at King’s-Edgehill create an inclusive environment that embraces diversity – not only in who we are but also in our choices of what we pursue and how we express those choices. Creativity and imagination enable us to develop ideas, solve problems, and acquire essential life skills. Intelligence and creativity are overlapping skills, and through the arts, individuals build confidence, develop perspective, and discover their true nature.

This week we recognize Seira Shigenaga '28 as one of our artists of the week. Seira has been a steadfast and dedicated presence in the Grade 9 music class. Through her consistent hard work and focus, she has emerged as a quiet leader, inspiring those around her. Her excellent piano skills and commitment to self-improvement set a high standard for her peers. Seira is a pleasure to work with, always willing to lend a helping hand and demonstrating kindness and musicianship in equal measure. Her contributions this term have been invaluable, and she truly deserves recognition for her positive attitude and dedication.

This week we also celebrate Nin Garay de Castro '27 as our artist of the week for her exceptional enthusiasm and dedication to mixed media art. Throughout the term Nin has embraced every opportunity to explore new techniques and push creative boundaries, building a stunning portfolio that beautifully reflects her artistic journey and experiences at King's-Edgehill.

Nin’s patience and persistence shine in every piece she creates, showcasing her natural aptitude and deep understanding of her craft. Her ability to combine diverse materials and concepts has set her apart as a standout creator, inspiring both peers and teachers alike.

Congratulations Seira and Nin on this well-deserved recognition!
