Exploring Analytical Techniques in IB Chemistry Lab
Grade 11 IB Chemistry students conducted an experiment this week investigating analytical techniques and equipment. Students prepared a primary standard salt solution using mass balances and volumetric flasks, and then used volumetric pipettes to prepare secondary and final solutions through dilution. This lab used food dye to aid in the observation and understanding of dilution and molarity.
In conclusion, this hands-on experiment helped students connect theory with practice, while highlighting the importance of accuracy in chemistry.
