A Little Wink Before We Think

On Thursday, June 6, the Grade 6 class enjoyed a field trip to visit Wink, the one-eyed horse. Wink is the hero of a picture book written by Mr. Kevin Lakes and illustrated by retired KES librarian, Mrs. Marilyn Curry. In the days leading up to the trip, the class engaged in a unit about the book and the process of writing it. Students enjoyed feeding Wink bites of apple and brushing his coat. It was a memorable day for all and a great day to wind down the term before exams!
