Last Friday, the Grade 8 ELL students took a special visit to Windsor Elementary School. Over the past weeks, they had been hard at work creating their own children's storybooks – writing, illustrating, and designing them from scratch. The imaginative tales ranged from crime-fighting hamburgers, a bear's daring journey to space, and traditional Mexican folktales.
During their visit, the Grade 8 students shared their books with a Grade 2 class as part of the Reading Buddies program. The younger students were captivated by the stories and asked plenty of questions – especially about life in Mexico. The experience was both heartwarming and enriching for everyone involved, fostering connections through creativity and storytelling.
