Fun-Filled Times at the Halloween Dance

For those of you that went to the Halloween dance, you know it was so much fun, there was laughter, dancing, and singing or screaming your hearts out! We can guarantee you that our friends were having so much fun and it seemed like, by the look on your faces, you were too!

We want to give a little shout out to some of the people that we saw and loved their costumes or their dance moves:

1. We have... Gabby Shaw '25! Gabby looked like she was having so much fun the whole time and we noticed that every time we walked by!

2. Next is... Isabelle Sampson '28! Wow Isabelle! Way to make your own costume!

3. Last but certainly not least... David Nyazvigo '29! David was a light bulb on the dance floor, every time we saw lights we knew it was him!

I hope you had a spooktacular Halloween. Fall is such a beautiful season filled with many fun, seasonal activities. I loved talking to my ELL students about the Mexican remembrance “Day of the Dead”, I enjoyed seeing everyone dressed up in costumes with spirit, and I was in awe of the big jack-o-lanterns at Dill Farm.
As the teacher lead of the School Dance Committee, I also wanted to share some moments I observed from the Halloween dance.

Talking with Ada Wooden '31, she exclaimed, “this is my first school dance, and it is awesome!”
I absolutely love that students feel welcomed and excited by the dances, that is exactly our goal.
Throughout the night, the canteen fundraiser led by Harper MacInnis '30 and Alexa Scothorn '30 always had customers and many treats were enjoyed. I appreciate those who brought in goodies for the canteen (Isabella Barker '27, Harper MacInnis, Lily Dow '31, Charlotte Siu-Porter '31). Back in September they had this plan and will be donating money raised to the Terry Fox Foundation. Thanks to their efforts, we raised $125.65!

I admire the leadership I see in the Junior School students and look forward to seeing what they do next.
As the dance neared the end, Morgan Barrett '31, a Grade 6 student kindly stayed and said, “I’m going to stay until the end to help clean up. I just wouldn’t feel right leaving without helping knowing that I was here and having fun but leaving it to others to clean up.” Morgan is on the School Dance Committee, but I was impressed and warmed by her thoughtfulness.

Fun, laughter, dancing, costumes, singing, awesomeness, goodies, and kindness, what a great way to spend the night.
