Honour Guard Welcomes CAIS Heads of School at Pier 21!

Cadets in the 254 form close friendships by serving together in uniform. One tight-knit group is the Honour Guard. On Monday evening, we went to the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 to welcome attendees of the 2024 CAIS Heads and Chairs Conference. 

Resplendent in full Black Watch Highland kit, the Honour Guard was instantly popular with bystanders. With grace, we paused numerous times for photos during a short walk to dinner before the main event at Pier 21. Upon arriving at Pier 21, everyone conducted a quick kit check to ensure everything was in order. After a brief practice, we were ready to welcome the arriving guests and dignitaries.

The superb bagpiping of Scotland the Brave and popular music was provided by Pipe Major MWO Ezra Sasaki '26. Ezra is a world class talent when it comes to piping!

The third-in-command of the 254, Master Warrant Officer Sofia Ning '25, was the Honour Guard Commander for this special event!

The lengthy pause by the Heads of School to admire, take pictures, and talk with the Guard showed that they were thoroughly impressed by the warm King’s-Edgehill School welcome at Pier 21. More than a few lingered to speak with our Head of School, Mr. Joe Seagram.

Outstanding cadets in the Honour Guard are Warrant Officer Lillian Blois '27, Michael Denysenko '25, Warrant Officer Mollybeth Dickinson '26, Master Corporal Tracy Dong '28, Master Corporal Emery Endres '28, Master Corporal Hyatt Endres '28, Sergeant Julien Gingras '27, Sergeant Skye Hussey '26, Training Sergeant Major – Master Warrant Officer Sofia Ning, Gabe Skafte '30, Sergeant Alex Urtheil '26, and Pipe Major – Master Warrant Officer Ezra Sasaki. Faculty was CI Mr. Patrick LePoidevin and Captain James Skafte.

The excellent turnout in Highland kit was possible due to the high attention to detail by Operations Officer CI Mrs. Kiaya Lakes, assisted by Ms. Marion Robins, in all aspects of outfitting our cadets.

What a wonderful autumn to forge great friendships in the 254!
