Mandalas and Bilateral Drawings

Over the past two weeks I have had the joy of creating art with the Grade 6, 7, and 10 students. We worked on mandalas and bilateral drawings. Both activities shared common similarities by having students apply symmetry and balance, creating art that used both the left and right side of their brain. I’m so proud of the art and the effort put into it by the students, and even more so of how happy they were with accomplishing their creations. Learning to create art with both hands at the same time or slowly drawing a balanced pattern is not always easy to do. Here is a sneak peak of some of the beautiful pieces.
