Join us for the 44th annual Windsor Terry Fox Run!
The countdown is on! Sunday, September 15, is the 44th annual Windsor Terry Fox Run and, once again, we will be hosting this community event and raising money for innovative cancer research. Forty-four years ago, Terry Fox began his Marathon of Hope and with a dream that one day we could live in a world without cancer. As we carry on his mission, this year’s theme No Matter What inspires us to keep going no matter the distance, no matter the journey, no matter the odds.
This is a compulsory event for all students and faculty, and family members, friends and pets are invited! We look forward to gathering as an extended KES community and walking, running, or cycling the five-kilometre route through Windsor together, followed by a BBQ in the quad! Registration begins at 10:00 am with the official start at 11:00 am.
Last year, our Windsor Terry Fox Run shattered all previous records and was the top fundraiser in Nova Scotia! We are proud of our success and look forward to another great year! It takes the initiative of our entire KES community to keep this kind of momentum going and your help and commitment are needed more than ever! Kick-start your school year with some Highlander leadership. Here’s what you can do: fundraise for cancer research by using this direct link to register as an individual or team, or to donate.
Commemorative 44th Anniversary t-shirts will also be sold in the first days of the school year ($25) and can be billed to your child’s account. Our school-wide Dress Down for Terry Day will be held on Wednesday, September 11. This year’s design is one of my favourites and knowing that all proceeds from t-shirt sales go directly to cancer research makes it easy to wear with pride.
I hope to see you onSeptember 15! Thank you for being a part of the Terry Fox legacy and a part of the cure!
