Tea Racozzi - selected Most Outstanding Female Wrestler at N.S. Open Provincial Championships
Tea was selected the Most Outstanding Female Wrestler at the N.S. Open Provincial Championships over the weekend. She led the KES girls' team and our girls' club team to a second place team finish in both events this past weekend.
Tea Racozzi led the KES senior girls to second overall, in the team standings, in the High School Wrestling Festival as well as the N.S. Open Provincial championships over the weekend. Sharon Estrada chipped in 5 team points by winning her weight class in the HS event. Ella Brown, Camryn Kleynhans, Elizabeth Usachova and Mona Mohamed added to the points total for the senior girls. Tea was upset in the final by a PEI Canada Games wrestler, in the HS event, but more than made up for that in the Sunday event where she won the N.S. Open Provincial Championships, by defeating another PEI Games wrestler, as well as winning the Most Outstanding Female Wrestler of the tournament. KES took only 4 senior girls to the Sunday event and look forward to fielding our full competitive team for regionals at the end of February. The Saturday event provided ample experience as well for some of our up and coming junior rookies, Quinn Emery and Callum Lovelace. With more experience, these boys will be exciting to watch.
The team will enjoy a break this coming weekend and will be sending some of our wrestlers to the Atlantic Championships in Truro on February 17, over our next break.
