Communications and Marketing Officer

About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Marketing, the Communications and Marketing Officer will be responsible for executing the day-to-day functions of the KES Communications and Marketing Department. This is a fun and exciting opportunity to take ownership of and develop the School’s digital presence in support of its strategic direction and the growth of the Communications and Marketing Department.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging digital content to support the School’s strategic priorities
  • Manage and oversee KES social media channels with a focus on content planning and audience engagement
  • Create and execute creative content (print, digital, and video) to support marketing goals
  • Oversee the creation and distribution of internal and external communications, including the weekly newsletter
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication platforms
  • Monitor media and social media channels daily to track online metrics and adjust strategies as needed
  • Perform onsite event photography/videography and coordinate with student photographers and staff to capture key moments for marketing purposes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve marketing and communications objectives
  • Support additional marketing and communications initiatives as required
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Post-secondary education (ideally in business, communications, public relations, marketing, or journalism) or relevant experience in lieu of education
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery
  • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content planning, and audience engagement
  • Proven ability in digital content creation with experience in various formats
  • Experience with Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva is preferred
  • Knowledge of web content management systems and SEO is an asset
  • Superior research, writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Proactive team player who takes initiative in identifying and executing marketing opportunities
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and an out-of-the-box thinker with strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Stay current with the latest trends in digital marketing and communications
  • Must enjoy working directly with youth and engaging with students

What We Offer
  • Position Type: Full-time (flexibility to work outside of regular office hours and travel as required)
  • Salary: $45,000–$52,000
