Cleaning Services Team Member

About Our Opportunity

As part of the KES Cleaning Services Team, the Cleaning Services Team Member will perform a variety of cleaning activities across the beautiful KES campus. This role ensures safe, sanitary, comfortable, orderly, and satisfying surroundings for students, employees, and the public.
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Cleaning assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established procedures
  • Cleaning floors with dry mops, wet mops, sweeping, and vacuuming
  • Cleaning and disinfecting washrooms and replenishing supplies
  • Emptying and cleaning garbages regularly
  • Dusting low and high places
  • Wiping and disinfect a variety of surfaces
  • Handling various cleaning products, chemicals, and tools
  • Straightening and rearranging furniture as directed
  • Assisting with room setups, events, or activities as required
  • Performing emergency cleaning services when accidents occur
 
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Experience with housekeeping or commercial cleaning; or a combination of related training and experience 
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize own work
  • Comfortable handling cleaning and sanitation products, procedures and techniques
  • Cooperates with other employees and enjoys working around young people
  • Demonstrates respectful, inclusive, and appropriate behaviour with staff and students
  • Must maintain a consistent and good attendance record in accordance with school policy
  • Successful clearance of a Criminal Record Check
Work Conditions
  • Requires moderate to high level physical effort- including walking, standing, lifting up to 20lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching, pushing, and pulling
  • May stand on step stool or small stepladder to reach high places
  • Requires a moderate level of manual dexterity for all aspects of fine cleaning
What We Offer
  • Position Type: Casual (with the potential opportunity to move to full time) 
  • Salary: $18.00 per hour
  • Start date: Immediate
