Thursday, October 31, was anything but a usual day on campus as it transformed into a Halloween celebration filled with fun activities, including the Junior School costume contest, Halloween drawing contest, the pumpkin carving contest, the cookie decorating contest, and so much more. Instead of the conventional dress-down day, students embraced the spirit of the season by dressing up, and the afternoon was lively with events taking place in both the athletic centre and the dining hall.
To kickstart the festivities, we first hosted a thrilling lineup of Halloween themed activities. Students enjoyed a fun-filled photo scavenger hunt, capturing spooky snapshots throughout campus. In the gym, they engaged in festive games that brought plenty of laughs, running around, and overall excitement. The highlight of the event was a spirited competition by grade, where students showcased their best costumes, loudest screams, and most creative death scenes. It was a “boo-tiful” way to celebrate the day, and everyone had a fantastic time before heading to the cafeteria.
In the cafeteria, first we had the pumpkin carving contest. Each squad was given two pumpkins and everyone had a great time! The students then voted for their favourite pumpkin by using a noise applaud meter, the Purple Squad won this contest. The other two contests were judged by our senior students. The winners of the cookie decorating contest was the Green Squad.
The Halloween drawing contest was judged by our Grade 12 IB Visual Arts class, they had commented at what a difficult task this was, since everyone did an amazing job. The Grade 8 and Grade 9 art classes were judged on Halloween, and the Grade 6 and 7 art classes will be announced on Monday. Overall it was a great day of Halloween fun and we can’t wait for next year!
