Grade 9 Students Take on Cape Split

On Friday, September 6, Grade 9 students and staff hiked the stunning natural landmark, Cape Split. This adventure was not just about enjoying the great outdoors, it provided a valuable educational experience for our Grade 9 students. 

Cape Split is rich in history and geography, making it an ideal destination for our students. The area features a unique geological formation where the Bay of Fundy splits into two distinct bodies of water. The impressive tides, renowned as the highest in the world, offer a fascinating backdrop for our outdoor excursion.  

We all know the benefits of outdoor education, but our adventure extended beyond academic learning. Immersion in nature helps students to develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues and the importance of conservation. Time spent outdoors has also been shown to reduce stress, allowing students to connect with nature and each other and add to the feeling of belonging.  

The hike to Cape Split was nothing less than fantastic. Reaching the breathtaking cliffs overlooking the Bay of Fundy was a moment of shared awe and accomplishment, reinforcing the bonds within our Grade 9 classes.
