Highlanders Shine at First Distance-Only Swim Meet

This past weekend three Highlanders swimmers attended the first distance-only swim meet at the lovely CFB Greenwood swimming pool. The events were the ones most feared by swimmers all over: 400m individual medley, and 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyle. Emery Endres '28 swam to a personal best in her 400m. She also placed first among all females, and third overall when the boys were included. Taking the second boys position was KES rookie Michael Denysenko '25 as he swam a strong early season 400m result, with an especially fast first 100 metres before dialing it back a bit. Completing the sweep of the medal podium was Harvey Hadley '27 taking gold in his first quarter mile effort of a season which will extend to August.

These Highlanders and many more are back in action this weekend as teams from across Nova Scotia will gather at Acadia University for a long day of many races. Most of our swimmers will compete in five to seven events over several hours.
