Highlanders Girls Hockey Kicks Off 2025 Season at Gee-Gee's Showcase

The Highlanders girls hockey team opened the 2025 portion of the season in Ottawa at the Gee-Gee’s Showcase hosted by the University of Ottawa. This was our program's first full event competing against U22 elite teams. The girls played in five closely contested games including a 2-1 loss to the Nepean Wildcats on a late third period goal, Nepean went on to finish third place in the tournament. The Highlanders competed against some of the best programs across the country and this experience has prepared them well to enter the second half of the season in full stride. The girls compete for the MPWHL Championships January 10, and 11 in PEI.

Ida Schlöglmann '26 was not with the team in Ottawa as she has been named to team Austria and is currently competing in the World U18 Championships in Hungary. Ida has been a great leader for the Highlanders, and we are proud and want to give her all the support as she plays for her country. Amazing achievement!
