This week our varsity ski team participated in their second regional race. After a week of stormy weather, we woke up to a bluebird day! The sun was shining as we headed to Martock. Our skiers skied so well during their first race and this one was no exception. Their first run was strong and fast. The course started to break down and become quite icy, but our skiers made it through the finish line with some of the fastest times of the day!
The skiing was impressive, but my favourite part of the day was hearing our team cheer on and encourage everyone as they raced, not just from KES but from all the other schools as well. The sportsmanship was truly heartwarming and admirable.
Our third and final regional race is Wednesday, February 26 and then we will be on our way to provincials on March 5.
