The Junior Boys Basketball Team continues to roll along with a formidable record of 22-3. They are aiming for the Regional Playoffs in February along with a trip to Shelburne and the hosting of Hoopla 2010.
Coach: Mr. Kevin Lakes ( klakes@kes.ns.ca )
The King’s-Edgehill Junior Boys Basketball team competes in the Annapolis Valley A League. The team is comprised of Grades 7-9 players with skill development and competitive team-play as the goal of the programme. Many players go on to play at the High School Level after learning the game as a member of the Junior Team.
“We focus on learning the fundamental skills of basketball and repeating them at practice -- at game speed, “ says coach Mr. Kevin Lakes. “Participation and enjoyment of the game are the main objectives. Of course, boys enjoy playing, most of all, when they are having success and have confidence in the abilities. This comes with repetition, support, fun drills and the opportunity to play.”
The team competes in up to 30 games a year and attends several tournaments including the hosting of the Annual Hoopla Tournament to end the season.
The team play home games and practises at the Ted Canavan Athletic Centre.
