A Simpler Time

King’s-Edgehill School is proud to introduce its fourth Senior School play production, A Simpler Time, which brings together a group of passionate and dedicated students from Grades 10-12.

A Simpler Time is a collection of short comedies that is presented to you through the wonderful world of time travel. In an hour and a half, you will follow the lives of teenagers Marley, Chris, and Taylor who are desperately looking for a break from their chaotic, modern lives. With the world’s problems weighing heavily on their shoulders, they prepare to use a time machine to find “a simpler time”. They jump from a common household in the medieval ages, to a busy switchboard in the 1940s, and they even find themselves caught up in the future! A Simpler Time is brought to you by enthusiastic and spirited students who are bursting with bright talent.

In preparation for their shows on April 12 and 13, we are excited to present three members of our gifted cast and crew in the weekly newsletter to give you a sneak peek of the incredible talent you can expect to see! We hope you will support them by attending our performances in the spring.

Molly Kozoriz ‘25
Those of you who came to see Matilda will remember Molly as the Trunchbull, and you can see her again this April as Martha Washington in A Simpler Time. She took her first acting lessons at nine years old, and today Molly is an enthusiastic IB theatre student. Last year, she was part of the group of students who wrote a play and performed it at Dramafest. Molly is a versatile and dedicated actress and singer, and she would recommend that people get involved in the arts because “The world of theatre is limitless and it’s a safe space where you can put yourself in someone else’s shoes and try to portray the emotions they feel. The best part is anyone can do it!”

Linda Prange ‘24
This is Linda’s third and final year here at King’s-Edgehill School. Linda is a well-rounded member of our school community, and she is currently in her second year of IB theatre. This is Linda’s first role in a school production and she has taken to it right away, becoming a dedicated and hardworking member of her mind-bending scene, Kids Today. Linda says she always thought theatre looked really fun and wanted to try it out for herself. She recommends theatre to anyone who is thinking of trying it and says she loves the team's collaboration and can't wait to see the final product of all their hard work. Thank you, Linda!

Gabby Shaw ‘25
Gabby has been in many musicals since she started at King’s-Edgehill six years ago, and this will be her second KES play. After portraying Kristoff in Frozen Jr., among other roles, she made her senior school debut as Bruce in this fall’s production of Matilda. Yes, there was real frosting involved. Gabby says that it was one of her favourite roles to play, and one of her favourite theatrical memories overall. She is looking forward to using the skills she’s learned from her IB theatre class in her role as Mabel in A Simpler Time and says it’s a brand-new challenge completely unlike any of the characters she’s played in the past. Break a leg, Gabby!
